Summer Staff

Summer Staff Application

Working as a summer staff at Camp Fowler is a unique opportunity.

  • Here you will spend 10 weeks making a difference in the lives of children.
  •  Here you will be blessed and challenged by living in a community of faith committed to living the Jesus way.
  • Here you will discover ways to care for God's world that will extend far past your time at Fowler.

There are only 26 positions available in 2011. Applications should be submitted by mid-December when the first round of interviews will be held.

At least 2 of the 3 references must also be on file in order to be considered an active candidate for a summer position. References may not be family members and should include people such as pastor, professor, or past employer who can speak to your character as well as your abilities.

Staff are employed from June 10-August 23, 2013. CPR-FPR will be offered for staff on June 10; Wilderness First Aid will be offered on June 10-11. These are required certifications for all staff positions.

Each summer, staff  gather at Fowler for 10 weeks committing their summer to honoring God by caring for God's children. These adults come from various parts of the country (and outside the country too!), form a community of faith where they can live into the vision of being in community, living simply, and caring for God's world.

This is not a job for everyone, but it is a job that challenges all who come to make a difference in the lives of the 800 children who come each summer.

Summer staff are not cabin counselors. They partner with volunteer adults from our churches who come for a week to work with the campers. Staff coordinate the program and support of camp and end up spending almost all of their waking hours surrounded by campers.

Staff who work at Fowler must come with HOPE: hope that God is still at work in this beautiful world. Becoming a place where children begin to see God's role in their own lives opens us all up to what God is calling us to be.

A summer at Fowler may have an impact that changes the rest of your life

During this time staff receive training in Christian camping skills and in the areas of children and youth ministry. Staff also work hard at becoming a faith community that witnesses to Christ through both word and action.
